We’re located at 2 Collins Street, Morningside, Auckland 1025. (As we’re on a corner, our entrance is on Ethel Street.)
You can also shop online and choose pick-up from our store. Find directions here.
What are your store opening hours?
Monday – Friday: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Saturday: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Sunday: Closed
Public Holidays: Check our website or socials for public holiday hours — we often close the store on national holidays and long weekends.
Do you have parking?
Yes — we have free, off-street parking directly outside the storefront.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Our online store allows you to order fabric in ¼ metre increments, with a minimum cut of 50cm (half a metre).
Prices are listed per metre, with the ¼ metre price shown in brackets for your convenience — giving you the flexibility to order just what you need.
Do you offer wholesale or trade discounts?
Yes, we do! Please see our Trade Discount & Wholesale Rates page for all the details.
Do you offer a student discount?
Yes — a student discount is available for all students with a valid student ID. The discount applies to full-priced fabric only and excludes remnants, sale items, threads, and sewing supplies.
Email us a photo of your student ID or present it in-store to receive your discount.
Can I order sample swatches?
Yes! Within each product listing, simply click the “ORDER FABRIC SAMPLE” button.
Due to high demand, we kindly ask that you select up to 6 sample swatches per order. This helps us process all requests fairly and efficiently — thanks for your understanding and support!
Ordering samples only?
We’re happy to send your sample swatches in a complimentary A4 post-paid envelope.
To request this option:
– Add a note in your cart saying “Samples by Post.”
– At checkout, choose “Pick up in store” to avoid courier charges.
Please note: This is an untracked NZ Post service. While the delivery target is 3 days nationwide, there may be delays in some regions.
If your samples are time-sensitive, we recommend selecting courier delivery.
What is deadstock fabric?
Deadstock fabric refers to surplus textiles that are no longer needed by designers, mills, or manufacturers — often left over from past seasons or discontinued production runs.
Rather than letting these high-quality fabrics go to waste, we source and rescue them to give them a second life. This helps reduce textile waste and gives you access to unique, limited-edition fabrics.
Because deadstock fabrics are sold as-is, we don’t always receive full details about their fibre content or origin — but our experienced team carefully assesses each one to give the most accurate description possible.
You may even recognise some of our deadstock from well-known designer collections!
When will my order be processed?
Fabric Box online orders are fulfilled and dispatched from our Morningside store during weekday opening hours.
We aim to process orders the same day or the next day they are received.
Orders placed on Fridays (after the last courier pick-up), weekends, or public holidays will be processed the next business day.
For more info, see our Shipping page.
Once your order is dispatched, our courier partners are responsible for delivery.
Do you ship internationally?
To our global sewing community — especially our Australian friends — we’re sorry! We currently ship within New Zealand only.
We absolutely plan to extend our offering to Australia and beyond. Stay tuned!
Can I return a fabric if it's not right for my project?
All sales are final. We don’t accept returns or exchanges if you change your mind.
If we’ve made a mistake with your order, or if you’ve received flawed fabric, we will of course make it right. Please contact us at shop@fabricbox.co.nz.
Colour accuracy & availability disclaimer
We aim to reproduce colours as accurately as possible, but please note that colours may vary depending on your device or monitor settings.
While listed on our website, some items, sizes, colours, or styles may not be immediately available or may go out of stock. We do our best to keep everything up to date, but occasional errors may occur — for which we apologise.
